Melting candle wax in a water bath in a pot: Pour water into the pot and place a metal or glass melting pot inside it. Pour the wax beads into the melting pot and monitor the temperature until it reaches the desired temperature (max. 80 degrees C) using a stick thermometer. Moulded candle temperature: 60 degrees C. Dipped candle temperature: 70 degrees C. Melting candle wax in thermostat-controlled melting pot, available in various sizes: Pour water into the pan, place the melting pot with the wax beads inside and set the temperature on the safety thermostat. Depending on the size of the melting pot, it can be expected to take many hours for the wax to melt entirely. With large melting pots that hold 20 to 30 litres of candle wax, it is a good idea to start melting the wax 12 hours before casting or dipping. Solid-coloured candles: Add candle dye to the melted paraffin wax in the melting pot and follow the dosing instructions on the candle dye packaging. Add stearin to the wax for a longer burning time, up to a maximum of 15%.
